The adjuster stopped by Friday to inspect the damage. The estimate came in this morning. That means it’s time to guess the estimate!

The pictures don’t tell the whole story (hint). So far, we know that the liftgate will need to be reskinned, the bumper cover and its accouterments replaced, a new muffler, the spare tire well straightened, and new paint for the right-rear quarter. The hatch doesn’t align properly with the quarter panels on either side.

Rules:

We are following the standard Price is Right format - the nearest to the price without going over wins.

You get two bids and only two bids.

If two people bid the same amount at roughly the same time (checked via the timestamp on the post), the second person has to change their bid and that change will not count against their two bids.

If you fail to change your matching bid, the person who bid first gets the bid.

Your bid must be a single number. Any ranges will be ignored. Bids in anything other than U.S. dollars will be ignored. I won’t spend any time converting from foreign currencies or from tonnage of potatoes.

It’s amazing how quick a simple bumper hit can add up. My wife’s Corolla was tapped a couple years ago and it racked up $3300 in damages for what looked like a scratched bumper.
